Position: Inclusive Design Consultant

Location: Hybrid (Remote + Site Visits, Primarily London)

Salary: Up to £60,000 (Full-time equivalent)

Hours: Monday - Friday (Flexible hours - c. 20-25 hours per week, averaged over the month)

Experience: Inclusive Design, Access Consultancy, NRAC/RICS, Planning Policy, Report Writing, Client Engagement, London Plan, Building Regulations

The Opportunity

Thompson & Terry Recruitment are delighted to be working with a boutique, disabled-led consultancy with a reputation for excellence in inclusive design to recruit an experienced Inclusive Design Consultant to join their small, agile team.

This is a part-time Inclusive Design job offering the opportunity to work on high-profile projects across London and beyond, in a flexible and supportive environment that values lived experience and professional growth.

This is a varied role, which involves conducting access audits, reviewing architectural plans, writing detailed reports, and contributing to inclusive design strategies.

While much of the role is remote or home-based, the successful Inclusive Design Consultant must be confident to present directly to clients and be able to travel to a range of high-profile projects, which are mainly across the south and London.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in inclusive design / access consultancy work;
  • Strong knowledge of the Equality Act 2010, Building Regulations (Part M, K, T), and inclusive design standards;
  • Familiarity with the London Plan / national planning policy;
  • Excellent report writing and analytical skills;
  • Confident communicator with experience in client meetings, site visits, and presentations;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently and collaboratively; and
  • NRAC Consultant status preferred (or RICS Inclusive Environment Consultant status).
