Job summary

A leading educational institution in South Shields is seeking a Head of SEND and ALS to provide strategic leadership for inclusive education. Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in post-16 education and SEND leadership.
  • Track record of working with local authorities, external agencies, and Ofsted inspections.
  • Strong knowledge of ALS funding methodology and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for SEND and inclusion across the college.
  • Manage multiple budgets, including Additional Learning Support and High Needs funding.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes for compliance with SEND legislation.
  • Collaborate with curriculum teams to embed inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Liaise with local authorities and external agencies for learner support.
