Job summary

vgroup seeks an experienced Incinerator Fitter to join the cruise vessel MARELLA DISCOVERY 2. You will be responsible for daily maintenance and cleaning of engines and mechanical equipment under the Engineer's supervision.

The role requires STCW 95 and ASE A-III/5 certifications, strong knowledge of hydraulics and vessel machinery, and the ability to work in confined spaces and irregular schedules aboard a ship. Fluent English is essential.

Qualifications

  • Valid STCW 95 certification and ASE A-III/5.
  • Strong knowledge of vessel mechanics, hydraulics, and engines.
  • Experience stripping engines down and rebuilding.
  • Experience on vessels in an equivalent position.
  • Physically and medically fit; moral integrity required.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily maintenance and cleaning of engines and mechanical equipment as directed by the Engineer in charge.
  • Report to the Staff Engineer and on duty Engineer.
  • Participate in crew safety drills and comply with safety regulations; lead by example on health and safety.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Incinerator Fitter to join the cruise vessel MARELLA DISCOVERY 2

Joining Date:

Contract:

9 months +/-1

Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Fitter on board cruise vessels.
  • Valid STCW certification, including certificates as per STCW Regulation V/2.
  • All other certificates must be valid.
  • Strong references and/or performance recommendations.
Position Summary
  1. Responsible to carry out the daily maintenance and cleaning of engines and mechanical equipment as directed by the Engineer in charge.
Reporting Structure
  1. Reporting to the Staff Engineer and on duty Engineer.
Safety Duties
  1. Participates in crew safety drills according to instructions.
  2. Must always comply with the Company’s safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures.
  3. Leads by example by taking care of Health and Safety of self and others.
  4. Ensures that all work equipment, personal protective equipment, chemicals and safety devices are being used correctly.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
  1. Valid STCW 95 certification.
  2. Valid ASE Certification A-III/5.
  3. Good knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, operation and maintenance of vessel machinery and mechanical equipment.
  4. Experience with stripping engines down and rebuilding.
  5. Experience on vessels in an equivalent positon.
  6. Physically and medically fit.
  7. Moral integrity is required.
Language requirements:

Excellent fluent English (verbal, written and technical). English is the working and safety language on board. This also includes the ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to effectively and efficiently engage with guests and crew members. Additional languages are considered beneficial.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Required to stand, walk long distances, reaching and sitting. Repetitive motion of bending, going up and down stairs, climbing ladders. Lifting or pushing of up to 50lbs. The position requires overtime work and irregular schedules. Works in the Engine Control Room, Engine spaces with noise, light traffic, distracting environments.
