Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 offender health professional to deliver specialist mental health care to offenders at HMP Wandsworth. The role is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours/week), with a 9,000+ salary package in London, and requires safeguarding, national security vetting and right-to-work documentation.

You will provide high intensity interventions, work with CMHTs, and contribute to reducing length of stay through effective community and prison-based care pathways.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to alternatives to inpatient admission and support early discharge through high intensity specialist interventions and complex casemanagement for offenders.
• Perform robust assessment, screening, and intervention for offenders with learning disabilities.
• Ensure timely delivery of waiting times, assessments and interventions, contributing to service performance targets.
• Promote integrated working with other specialist services, ensuring continuity of care and gate liaison.
• Collaborate with CMHTs to share information, ensure continuity of care and CPA where necessary.

Main duties of the job

• To contribute to alternatives to inpatient admission and assisting with early discharge, through the implementation of high intensity specialist interventionsandcomplexcasemanagementarrangementsresultingincontinuityof careforan offender on ordinary location, reduced length of stay (both in relation to prison inpatient services and external NHS or independent in-patient services).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION, PLEASE READ :

All applicants must be willing to undertake National Security Vetting in order to work in a Prison Setting. This will be completed as part of the pre-employment checks through Oxleas and the prison vetting team.

5 years address history will be needed.
