Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an In-House Senior Legal Counsel for a Facilities Management company in the West Midlands. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of post-qualification experience providing commercial legal advice and managing a range of contracts, predominantly in refurbished housing projects. This role offers a salary of £85K to £100K plus a car allowance and bonus, with hybrid working options available.

Qualifications

  • 5+ PQE solicitor with confidence in providing legal advice.
  • Experience in handling contracts related to public and private sector clients.

Responsibilities

  • Handle variety of contracts for predominantly refurbished housing projects.
  • Support commercial and contract negotiations.
  • Manage sustainability energy management aspects of contracts.
  • Draft and negotiate JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Travel to other offices as required, up to 1 day per week.

Douglas Scott are working with a market leading Service Business who are Headquartered in the West Midlands. The global business is growing with over 15K employees in the UK (spread across 10+ offices) and over 70K globally.

They’re on the lookout for a 5+ PQE solicitor (no upper limit on experience) who is confident giving commercially focussed legal advice to senior stakeholders as well as a variety of public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle a variety of contracts on behalf of the business, predominantly on refurbished housing projects to a range of public and private sector clients.
  • Support commercial and contract negotiations and variations as well as any on‑going contractual operational matters.
  • Manage the sustainability energy management aspects of contracts.
  • Provide expertise in drafting and negotiating predominantly non‑contentious JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Travel to other offices up to 1 day per week as required.
