Oculus Legal Group are partnered with a well-established UK business who are seeking an experienced litigation solicitor with a strong background in residential property law to join their growing legal team. This is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to shape and expand the in-house legal function while providing key legal support across a dynamic property business. You will work closely with internal teams to manage and resolve disputes, and over time may also support commercial property matters.

This role is ideal for a solicitor with a passion for litigation, experience in residential property disputes, and a strong understanding of UK court proceedings, witness statements, and case management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage legal claims for and against the business, including drafting defences, witness statements, and briefing counsel as required.
  • Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural rules.
  • Represent the business in court for claims brought by or against the company.
  • Provide advice on contentious legal matters to internal teams, including customer relations.
  • Liaise with external panel law firms and counsel for complex claims, maintaining a cost‑effective service.
  • Drive continuous improvement in legal processes, identifying efficiencies and cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Manage legal costs effectively and contribute to a culture of disciplined cost management.
  • Over time, assist with commercial property matters, including commercial tenancy agreements and contract renewals.
Skills & Experience
  • Qualified solicitor with 3–6+ PQE, with significant experience in residential property litigation.
  • Experience in commercial property law is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of Real Estate, Civil Procedure Rules (CPR), and county court proceedings.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across the business and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
  • Ambitious, proactive, and able to stay updated on legal and market developments to provide strategic guidance.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of claims and working independently to manage the end‑to‑end litigation process.
