Job summary

A leading legal recruitment firm in North Yorkshire seeks a junior Corporate/Commercial Solicitor or an experienced Corporate/Commercial Paralegal for a 9 to 12 month temporary contract. The role involves supporting M&A transactions, providing legal advice, and managing commercial contracts. Overview

In-house legal team at a company in North Yorkshire requires either a junior Corporate/ Commercial Solicitor (0 to 1 years’ PQE) or an experienced Corporate/ Commercial Paralegal to join their in-house legal team. This will be a temporary contract of 9 to 12 months, as one of the junior lawyers in the team is going on maternity leave. Our client is a global company with headquarters in North Yorkshire, operating in over 20 countries and has a turnover of £5.5 billion. The successful candidate will support the Group General Counsel and other members of the Group Legal Team managing a wide range of corporate and commercial legal matters for the Group both in the UK and internationally.

  • supporting M&A transactions
  • supporting strategic International legal projects
  • commercial legal advice
  • assisting in administration of the company’s share plan
  • hands-on issue resolution
  • reviewing and amending commercial contracts including big compliance contracts
  • and, a range of company secretarial work.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must be an experienced Paralegal or a junior England & Wales qualified solicitor with a high-quality legal training and experience from a respected commercial law firm or an in-house legal department. Your experience can come from a range of the mainstream commercial practice areas, inc. commercial contracts and corporate. Our client will also consider applications from candidates seeking either a full-time or part-time (3 or 4 days per week) contract role as they can accommodate both.
