Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an In-House Contentious Construction Solicitor for a six-month fixed-term contract in the Midlands with hybrid working. The client is a large housing organisation, focused on safe, affordable homes and supportive communities.

You will lead remediation and recovery disputes, advise on Building Safety Act 2022 obligations and manage external lawyers and experts to deliver pragmatic, commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in contentious construction and property-related disputes.
• Advising on building defects, remediation and recovery strategies.
• Knowledge of Building Safety Act 2022 and leaseholder protections.
• Ability to manage external solicitors, experts and tribunals.

Responsibilities

• Lead the legal strategy for remediation, defects and cost recovery claims.
• Advise on Building Safety Act 2022 obligations and regulatory requirements.
• Review contracts, collateral warranties and technical evidence to investigate claims.
• Manage contentious and pre-contentious matters, including negotiations and court proceedings.
• Instruct and oversee external solicitors, counsel and experts to align costs with strategy.
