Job description

You will be part of the communication team for VINCI Building. As an in‑house communications apprentice, you will contribute to the production of multi‑media communications materials, including the preparation and issue of team newsflashes, internal newsletters, and posters.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the production of high‑quality communications materials on the project, including the preparation and issue of team newsflashes, newsletters, and posters.
  • Attend relevant meetings and community events to ensure that all communications and community relations activities are planned and delivered within required timescales.
  • Act as a brand champion and manage VINCI Building brands, ensuring appropriate guidelines are followed, cascading guidance down to the projects team and wider community.
  • Co‑ordinate communications input to intranet sites promoting good news stories and milestones.
  • Learn to understand audience needs and develop relevant and timely communications, tailoring as necessary.
  • Support the communications on internal and external events; use IT systems and software to support campaigns.
  • Build stakeholder relationships and present to them in both formal and informal settings.
  • Support campaigns by undertaking tasks such as desk research, event coordination, and database management to ensure compliance with agreed service or performance levels.
  • Produce written content such as news releases, articles, social media content, bulletins, and blogs that are accessible to meet the needs of different audiences and channels.
  • Adapt communication styles as appropriate to the audience.
  • Support the production of non‑written content such as film production management, user‑generated style content, live video streaming, social image creation, and infographic production.
  • Distribute content using social media channels.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative research to analyse and evaluate public relations and communications activities and present findings to project stakeholders.
  • Analyse and interpret complex subjects through different communication channels and identify areas for improvement.
  • Input to and review communications programmes and plans with a focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles within the organisation's procedures.
  • Undertake risk assessment and provide information to support stakeholder planning and strategy.
  • Plan and deliver engagement activities for stakeholders, such as curating the content, supporting events, and collating feedback.
  • Proofread and edit communications materials such as news releases, graphics and video, and social media content.
  • Support team and colleague development through buddying or coaching.
  • Contribute to activities which focus on improving sustainability within the organisation's procedures.
  • Apply relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and ethical guidance where appropriate to the work.
Training & Development
  • Training will be on‑the‑job, combined with skills and knowledge‑based workshops, e‑learning and personal development coaching.
  • The apprentice will gain a Level 4 Public Relations and Communications apprenticeship qualification.
  • There will be an independently assessed End Point Assessment by the awarding organisation in the last three months of the programme.
  • Once this qualification has been achieved, the apprentice will be eligible to apply for full PRCA membership.
  • Apprentice will also attend Apprentice Induction and Personal & Development workshops; the apprenticeship scheme is designed to kick‑start a journey towards becoming an industry expert.
  • You will get hands‑on experience and tailored training to support you every step of the way: mentor allocation, guidance, additional training and involvement in communications projects.
  • We are looking for a long‑term relationship with our apprentices and have a long‑term career structure in mind, whereby we see the apprentice developing into senior roles within our business as it grows.
