Raytheon UK is seeking an ICT Test Engineer to support a broad range of defence electronics projects. The role focuses on developing and maintaining Bed of Nails and Flying Probe ICT solutions, validating test programs, and driving continuous improvements across multiple platforms.

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, contribute to DFx analyses, mentor diagnostic technicians, and help ensure on-time delivery while upholding the highest quality standards

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of HNC in electronics or related subject; higher qualifications preferred
• Experience in In-Circuit Test engineering for Bed of Nails / Flying Probe platforms
• Background in electronics manufacturing processes across multiple technologies
• Experience in high-reliability electronic assembly environments (Defence/Aerospace) is desirable
• FMEA, Control Plan, Lean methods experience is advantageous
• ERP/MES knowledge and IPC-A-610 familiarity are beneficial

About the role:

This is a unique opportunity to join a global Manufacturing and Engineering company to support a wide range of projects in the Defence Manufacturing Electronics industry. This is a hands on role supporting electronics and a range of in-circuit test tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Provide “Flying Probe” / “Roving Probe” ICT Solutions for new products (NPI’s)
• Provide “Bed of nails” ICT solutions
• Maintain existing ICT solutions across multiple platforms
• Implementation of Engineering Change Notes / Engineering Process Changes
• Validation of Test Platforms and Test Programs
• Design for Excellence (DfX) Analysis and collaboration with Design teams
• Drive through corrective actions to improve efficiencies & product quality
• Support production in high level of diagnostics
• Technical advancement / mentorship of diagnostic technicians & engineers.
• Active team member
• Identify, expedite and / or elevate any quality or performance issues
• Achieve On Time Delivery targets
• Effective use of manufacturing data and analysis techniques to proactively identify and address issues, driving systemic Root Cause/Corrective Action
• Report and maintain Process/Equipment Engineering metrics, track performance & yields against team KPIs and Individual Goals & Objectives
• Drive continuous improvements through the use of Best in Class and World Class Manufacturing principles

Skills and Experience

• Minimum of HNC in an electronics related subject (HND/Degree preferred). Relevant industry experience will also be considered
• Experience in an In-Circuit Test engineering role developing hardware and software solutions for Bed of Nails and / or Flying Probe platforms.
• High-performance Engineer and self-starter
• Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes over a wide range of technologies and production platforms (CCA, HLA etc.)
• Experience working in a high reliability electronic assembly environment (Defence / Medical / Aerospace). Applicants from a Commercial Electronics background are also encouraged to apply.
• Can demonstrate contribution to specific improvements in Production Programs’ effectiveness efficiency and optimization
• Can lead / participate in process FMEA, Control Plan, Process flow development, review and risk mitigation processes
• Experienced in SPC, OEE, ESD, COSHH & Risk Assessment
• Understands the principles of 6 Sigma (or equivalent methodology) and Lean Manufacturing
• Knowledge and experience of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 guidelines (including recent revision updates)

Desirable:

• Experience in the use of FabXpert, Test Expert / Fabmaster (Test program generation)
• Experience in generating Takaya Flying probe test programs
• Experience in generating Teradyne Test Station programs and fixtures (Bed of nails)
• Previous experience of JTAG and some Functional test solutions
• Understands the principles of 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
• Knowledge and experience of SAP and Shopfloor data collection systems
• Technical presentation skills
