Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an Import and Export Officer for a 12-month contract in Samlesbury, offering hybrid working. The ideal candidate will have over 2 years of experience, solid knowledge of international trade, and excellent organizational skills. You will juggle multiple tasks effectively, work well under pressure, and have proficient IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years' experience in an import/export role.
  • Familiarity with legal requirements for shipments.
  • Experience with Duty Management Systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Apply up-to-date import techniques in the role.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet demands.
  • Manage multiple enquiries effectively.

Samlesbury Based (Hybrid working)

£28.63 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35

12 Month Contract

This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based In Samlesbury. Hybrid working. 3 days per week on site.

Import role skills and experience
Knowledge
  • Solid knowledge of international trade matters with good experience of applying up to date import techniques
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an import / export role
  • Must be familiar with the legal requirements regarding importing and exporting of shipments
  • Understanding of the role of freight forwarders
  • Must be familiar with SDP procedures
  • Knowledge of Customs Special Procedures
Skills
  • Excellent organisation skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle multiple enquiries and prioritise workload
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Competent under pressure with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • IT competent with good Microsoft word and excel skills
  • Experience of operating a Duty Management System
Export Officer skills and knowledge required

  • Solid applied knowledge of international trade matters with good experience of applying up to date export techniques
