Lloyds Banking Group is offering a Software Engineering Placement Student role across Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester. You will work with experienced engineers to design, build and maintain applications, platforms and digital services used by millions of customers and colleagues.

During the year, you’ll learn through structured learning, tackle real business challenges, and progress from learning to delivery at pace while adopting modern engineering practices and tools.

Qualifications

• Be in your penultimate year at university.
• Ability to demonstrate sound knowledge and technical skills aligned to the role.
• Knowledge of at least one modern programming language or framework.
• A genuine passion for technology and the drive to keep learning.

Responsibilities

• Work with experienced engineers, product teams, architects and tech specialists to build software that makes a real difference for customers and colleagues.
• Get stuck into coding with languages like Java, Python, TypeScript, Kotlin, Swift, Rust and Golang.
• Learn how modern engineering works in practice, from cloud development and automation to continuous testing.
• Help improve the apps, digital journeys, APIs, AI-enabled tools and platforms that people across the bank rely on every day.
• Use technology to solve real problems, improve experiences and help the business work betterBuild your confidence as an engineer while learning how software is designed, developed and delivered at serious scale
