Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd is actively seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Norfolk. This full-time, long-term role offers an immediate start and a chance to support pupils with a range of additional learning needs within a safe, inclusive learning environment.

You will work with teachers and specialist staff to deliver tailored activities, support communication and social development, and help students access learning opportunities while upholding safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant: Previous SEND experience is desirable
• Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant: Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
• Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant: Patient, caring, and resilient approach
• Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant: Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant: Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant: Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant: Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of special educational needs
• Work alongside teachers and specialist staff to deliver tailored learning activities
• Provide classroom, small-group, and individual support where required
• Promote communication, independence, and social development
• Support positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Help pupils access learning opportunities and achieve personal targets
• Contribute to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
