Job summary

Forestry England in Lyndhurst, Hampshire seeks a Habitat Restoration Officer to lead landscape-scale habitat restoration projects within the New Forest HLS scheme. You will plan and oversee initiatives with external funding to restore internationally-important habitats across around 20,000 hectares.

The role is based at The King’s House, Lyndhurst, with a 37-hour week and a fixed-term appointment until 1 January 2029 (with extension or permanency possible).

Responsibilities

• Join the Higher-Level Stewardship (HLS) project team based in the New Forest and oversee landscape-scale habitat restoration projects.
• Work with external funding from the New Forest HLS scheme to deliver restoration initiatives.
• Contribute to restoring and enhancing internationally-important habitats across the Verderer’s of the New Forest HLS area.
