Job summary

Connect2Hackney's Migrant Children & Families Team seeks an experienced Team Manager for a minimum 6-month maternity cover in Hackney. You will lead a multidisciplinary social work team, oversee safeguarding, care planning, and leaving care responsibilities, while ensuring statutory duties for UASC, NRPF families, and care leavers awaiting Home Office decisions.

Qualifications

• Significant management experience within Children's Social Care.
• Strong knowledge of Looked After Children procedures and Leaving Care legislation.
• Experience with Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and NRPF.
• Understanding of immigration legislation and its impact on families.
• Experience supervising and leading high-performing teams.
• Excellent partnership work across multi-agency networks.
• Commitment to trauma-informed and anti-racist practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, supervision and oversight to a multidisciplinary social work team.
• Ensure high-quality assessments, care planning and interventions for children and families.
• Lead safeguarding, looked after children procedures and leaving care responsibilities.
• Oversee work with Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and NRPF families.
• Support staff to respond effectively to immigration-related issues.
• Collaborate with immigration advisors, partner agencies and internal stakeholders.
• Deliver training and professional development to staff.
• Drive a culture of excellent practice that is systemic, trauma-informed and anti-racist.
• Monitor performance, undertake case audits and ensure statutory compliance.
