Job summary

Queen Mary University of London is advertising a Laboratory Operations Technician in the Blizard Institute, Centre for Immunobiology and Infection, to support research on menopause effects in mononuclear phagocyte biology. The role involves PBMC handling, tissue immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and daily lab duties.

Candidates should have a relevant BSc in biology or related sciences and be able to work to deadlines, with experience in data analysis and waste management.

Qualifications

Relevant BSc in biological or related science.
Experience working with and isolating human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs).
Experience in phlebotomy and immunohistochemistry of human tissue samples.
Flow cytometry experience.
Managing day-to-day lab duties and deadlines.
Experience analysing and processing data; good waste management procedures.

Responsibilities

Support research evaluating the impact of menopause on mononuclear phagocyte biology.
Assist with routine laboratory duties and sample processing.
Coordinate data collection and maintain lab records.
