IntraHealth Ltd is delivering nasal and intramuscular flu and other vaccine programmes across community and educational settings in line with DoH Green Book guidelines. The Immunisation Nurse works with the Immunisation Team to provide safe, quality services and CPD updates for ongoing best practices.

The role involves close collaboration with administration teams and school staff, ensuring consent, safety, and timely reporting in the Locality Lead Nurse framework, and progressing PGDs/PSDs

The Immunisation Nurse works as a member of the Immunisation Team, delivering nasal and intramuscular flu and other vaccine programmes within community and educational settings in accordance with Department of Health Green Book against Immunisation and Local Services Specifications.

The role will involve working closely with the administration team and school staff.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Practice

• Provide safe delivery of a quality immunisations service.
• To identify, prioritise and implement programmes of care that meet the needs of the patients.
• To take into account risk and its effective management e.g. consent, side effects.
• Take responsibility for CPD and keep up to date with current practices and research-led developments.
• To identify and report all new problems and concerns to the Locality Lead Nurse;
• Work towards PGDs and PSDs.

Communication

• The Immunisation Nurse will communicate effectively with other team members;
• The Immunisation Nurse will communicate effectively with parents, carers and school staff.

Delivering a quality service

• Recognise and work within own competence and professional code of conduct as regulated by the NMC;
• Work in a manner that maintains and promotes quality, working as a team and alongside admin to organise and manage school workload.
• Support and participate in shared learning and networking across other immunisation teams;
• Understand and apply legal policy that supports the safeguarding of children and adults.
