Description

Are you a newly qualified Solicitor looking to build your career in UK immigration law?

Moore SGD Law is looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Immigration Solicitor (NQ – 1 year PQE) to join our growing legal services team in London.

Working closely with an experienced Immigration Partner, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience advising businesses and individuals on a broad range of UK immigration matters, with a particular focus on business immigration, sponsor licences and compliance.

As part of the wider Moore Kingston Smith Group, you'll also benefit from opportunities to collaborate with professionals across tax, accountancy, employer services and corporate advisory, giving you exposure beyond a traditional legal practice.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical expertise, build meaningful client relationships and progress your career within a supportive, collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise and support businesses and individuals on UK immigration matters, including sponsor licence applications, ongoing compliance and sponsorship obligations.
  • Assist with Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility and Global Talent visa applications.
  • Support applications relating to family and partner visas, extensions, Indefinite Leave to Remain, British nationality and naturalisation.
  • Provide guidance on EU Settlement Scheme matters and Right to Work checks.
  • Prepare legal representations, application bundles and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Act as a Level 1 User on clients' Sponsor Management Systems (SMS).
  • Conduct legal research and stay informed of changes to UK immigration legislation, policies and Home Office guidance.
  • Liaise with clients, the Home Office and internal stakeholders to ensure cases progress efficiently.
  • Attend client meetings and contribute to delivering practical, commercially focused legal advice.
  • Support knowledge-sharing, business development and marketing activities to help grow the practice.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in UK business immigration law, excellent client service skills and a genuine enthusiasm for developing their legal career.

You'll bring:

  • Qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales, with up to one year's post-qualification experience, and a valid Solicitors Practising Certificate.
  • An LPC qualification or equivalent.
  • At least one year's practical experience in UK business immigration, gained through a training seat, paralegal role or post-qualification experience.
  • Hands-on experience with sponsor licence applications and ongoing sponsor compliance, ideally within an established business immigration practice.
  • Experience working within a partnership environment.
  • Strong legal drafting, research and analytical skills, with excellent written communication.
  • A high level of accuracy, attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellent client service.
  • Confidence communicating with clients and stakeholders, including when navigating complex or sensitive situations.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach, with the confidence to use your initiative and contribute ideas.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in working alongside professionals from other disciplines.

Above all, you'll be keen to learn, take ownership of your development and contribute positively to the continued success of our Immigration team.

At Moore SGD Law, we value different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. We're committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.

Why Work For Us?

In return, we offer a supportive, collaborative and professional environment where you can develop your expertise, gain valuable experience and build a rewarding legal career.

  • Competitive salary, reflecting your skills and experience, with annual salary reviews.
  • Hybrid and flexible working to support a positive work-life balance.
  • Generous annual leave, including 25 days' holiday plus three additional days over Christmas, with the option to buy or sell leave.
  • Ongoing professional development, including mentoring, training opportunities and support for professional subscriptions.
  • Cross-disciplinary exposure, with opportunities to collaborate with specialists across legal, tax, accountancy and wider professional services.
  • Comprehensive wellbeing support, including a health cash plan, Digicare+ and an Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Financial protection and pension benefits, including life cover, critical illness cover and income protection.
  • A range of additional benefits, including Perkbox discounts, gym membership support, cycle-to-work schemes, employee referral rewards and paid volunteering opportunities.
