About the Job

Interview Date: Monday 15December 2025

The Immigration Compliance Officer (Engagement) will support the university’s recruitment activities by providing immigration advice and completing immigration compliance tasks for international applicants and students. The post holder will also be required to assist with collating and analysing attendance data and the day-to-day management of the University’s engagement monitoring activities for Student Route Visa students enrolled by the University of Northampton.

The post holder will also be expected to contribute to the delivery of other key functions of the Immigration and Compliance Team such as engagement monitoring activities and ensuring that Home Office reporting is completed in line with specified deadlines.

About You

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, with a demonstrable customer service focus and excellent attention to detail. You will have a good understanding of issues impacting upon the attendance and engagement of international students with their course of study. You will have experience of providing high quality advice to international students on a wide range of issues and the judgement to elevate cases to a senior colleague, when required. Proficient in Microsoft Office, you should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with the skills to develop productive working relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Essential;

  • Qualified to degree level.

Desirable;

  • Postgraduate qualification in a subject relevant to Higher Education.

The Immigration Compliance Services Team sits within the department of Global Engagement. We are responsible for ensuring that the University complies with all its duties as a Student Route Visa Sponsor by providing advice and support to international students on immigration and other related international student issues to ensure that the department of Global Engagement delivers an excellent international student experience for all its international applicants and students.
