Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an IMI-qualified MET Technician to join a well-established automotive workshop in Canterbury. The role covers mechanical, electrical and trim repairs on a range of vehicles, with a focus on safe, high-standard workmanship.

The position is full-time and permanent, offering competitive hourly rates and long-term stability. Ideal candidates will hold an IMI qualification, have strong diagnostic skills, a full UK driving licence and be able to work both

Qualifications

• IMI qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (required).
• Proven MET Technician or vehicle technician experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Experience in a bodyshop or accident repair is highly desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills; attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical, electrical and trim repairs on a range of vehicles
• Remove and refit mechanical and electrical components
• Diagnose faults and identify additional repair requirements
• Complete strip and refit work to manufacturer and industry standards
• Work closely with body repair technicians and other workshop staff
• Ensure all repairs are completed safely and to a high standard
• Accurately complete job cards and repair documentation
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Work efficiently to meet workshop productivity and quality targets

Working Hours: Monday to Friday

About the Role

Our client is a well-established automotive business with a busy workshop in Canterbury, and they are currently looking for an experienced IMI-qualified MET Technician to join their growing team.

This role will focus on the mechanical, electrical and trim aspects of vehicle repair, working alongside a wider bodyshop team to ensure vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Proven experience as an MET Technician / MET Fitter / Vehicle Technician
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Previous experience within a bodyshop or accident repair environment is highly desirable
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK Driving Licence
