About the Role

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and dedicated Band 3 IR Imaging Assistant to work within our Interventional Radiology Department across sites. The role is new within the team, with support and training provided to enable you to develop within the Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the IR and CNS team, support and look after patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
  • Assist with venipuncture, cannulation, and assisting IR procedures like US and CT guided biopsies.
  • Prepare patients for interventional procedures, ensuring prompt and complete preparation prior to entering the scanning rooms.
  • Assist the operator intra-procedure and support the clinical nurse specialist team.
  • Provide administrative tasks and support to the IR and CNS teams.
  • Perform basic observation taking and assessment.
  • Take part in training on sterile techniques, scrubbing, circulating during IR procedures, and specific IR equipment.
Candidate Profile
  • Highly computer literate.
  • Experienced within a hospital setting, with knowledge and evidence of medical terminology.
  • Education or equivalent experience required to perform the role.
  • Autonomous work style using own initiative while collaborating within the team.
  • Ability to work across sites, allocated based on procedure list requirements.
