The role involves overseeing the entire electrical package from pre-construction through to handover while ensuring adherence to safety standards and compliance regulations. Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as an Electrical Project Manager or in a senior management role.
• Proven track record managing electrical packages on commercial or industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and commissioning processes.
• Valid ECS Gold Card and SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Overview

Electrical Project Manager — About the Project: We are currently delivering a high-profile commercial project (e.g. office block, retail centre, mixed-use development, shell & core, or fit-out) and are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager on a freelance basis. This role will involve managing the full electrical package from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the electrical package across the project lifecycle
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour for all electrical works
• Review electrical designs, specifications, and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and regulations
• Work closely with the main contractor, consultants, and other trade project managers to ensure smooth project delivery
• Develop, monitor and update electrical programme of works in line with overall project schedule
• Oversee quality assurance, testing & commissioning, and compliance documentation
• Ensure robust health & safety practices are implemented and maintained, including RAMS, PPE, and site safety audits
• Identify and manage project risks, delays or cost impacts — providing solutions and escalation as needed
• Lead snagging, defect management, and final handover of electrical systems
• Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, progress reports, procurement schedules and cost tracking
• Attend client meetings, progress reviews, and coordination workshops

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 3 years' experience as an Electrical Project Manager, or in a similar senior management role
• Proven track record managing electrical packages on commercial or industrial construction projects
• Strong understanding of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations, building services coordination, and commissioning processes
• Valid ECS Gold Card
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification
• Strong leadership, communication, and project planning skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software (e.g. Asta, MS Project, etc.)
• Full UK Driving Licence
