Job summary

Skyscanner is seeking a Principal Engineer for Identity & Privacy to shape the technical foundations that earn traveller trust while enabling data, AI, and personalised experiences. This senior role owns the strategy and standards across identity, consent, and privacy engineering for traveller-facing products and data platforms.

• Led technical change across multiple teams without direct authority.
• Made balanced decisions considering product value, privacy, reliability and cost.
• End-to-end thinking across client surfaces, backend, data products, ML features and analytics.
• Turn policy into technical controls and measurable standards.
• Communicated technical strategy with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the long-term vision for identity and privacy engineering, aligning with product and data strategies.
• Lead scalable identity solutions, consent-aware data processing, and privacy-preserving data flows.
• Set standards for identity, consent, retention, deletion, and auditability across systems.
