The role

As the ID Centre Manager at Manchester Airport, you will play a key role in maintaining the airport’s safety, security and operational effectiveness. You will oversee the full lifecycle of Airport Identification Cards, Driver Permits and Taxi Permits, ensuring all are issued in accordance with the UK National Aviation Security Programme and Manchester Airport policies.

You will lead and coordinate the Pass & Permit Office Administrators, managing workloads related to security pass enquiries and car parking administration. Your focus will be on delivering a high‑quality service within agreed SLAs while ensuring the team is well trained and fully compliant with all regulatory obligations.

In addition, you will operate and manage several operationally critical systems, including the Airport Access Control (CEM), Airport ID Gateway and Car Parking Systems (S&B). You will be responsible for maintaining and delivering the MAG ID standard to ensure consistently excellent service for all ID Centre customers.

A key part of the role also involves building strong relationships with stakeholders such as airlines, control authorities and service partners. You will work collaboratively to ensure regulatory compliance, resolve performance issues and continually improve the quality and accuracy of ID submissions.

What will make you successful in this role

The successful candidate will have experience of managing people in a regulated service environment with the ability to develop them into a high‑performing team, delivering excellent standards of customer service, along with experience of effective communication with key stakeholders at a senior level in order to manage, improve and develop their performance. You’ll also need to be able to complete and pass a 5‑year enhanced background check and Aviation Security Airport Security Manager course, and be able to attain and maintain Counter Terrorism Clearance (CTC).
