Overview

We are seeking an ICT Operations Manager to join our team. The Pines is an all-age special school with 280 pupils, ages 4 to 16, all with a diagnosis of Autism. We are part of the Birmingham Special Schools Cooperative Trust and a Foundation Special School. Our vision is to create a safe and happy environment for children to develop life-long communication skills to become valued members of modern day society.

Key Requirements
  • Has at least 2 years experience of School ICT systems and demands
  • Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a calm, friendly and positive, professional demeanour
  • Is well organised, flexible and methodical – with an eye for detail
  • Can manage their workload effectively and prioritise tasks
Key responsibilities
  • Manage school ICT requirements
  • Assist and advise the Senior Leadership Team with identifying suitable upgrades to equipment and the Schools IT Infrastructure
  • Maintain and manage support requests
  • Manage hardware and cloud solutions
  • Ensure an up-to-date inventory of ICT equipment, software licenses and consumables are maintained
  • Manage MIS applications and user accounts
  • Support and manage the database infrastructure for onsite servers and systems that are not cloud based. Including, door access control, WiFi, SIMS etc
  • Responsible for installing and maintaining school networks and infrastructure equipment including servers, switches and firewall devices
  • Troubleshoot Firewalls & Switches
  • Manage the installation of all new computer hardware including wireless, fibre optic, CAT6 networks and external projects, as required
  • Responsibility to ensure off-site encrypted back-ups are in place and tested in accordance to Cyber Security requirements
  • Configure & maintain networks in line with Cyber Security requirements
