Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the successful and forward-thinking ICT Department at Bolton School. We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused ICT Helpdesk Technician to provide high‑quality first‑line technical support across the Schools’ extensive network of over 2,500 users.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for ICT support queries, providing timely and effective assistance in diagnosing and resolving a wide range of technical issues. These include troubleshooting software, hardware, network and server faults, desktop systems, and printer‑related issues.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your technical skills in a dynamic environment. Depending on experience, you may also have the opportunity to contribute to ICT projects and undertake additional training to further develop within the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first‑line support to staff and students, ensuring issues are logged, prioritised, and resolved promptly.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems across desktop, network, and printer systems.
  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of ICT hardware and software.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior team members when necessary.
  • Assist with ICT projects and system upgrades as required.
