Job summary

Assystem is seeking a skilled I&C commissioning lead to drive complex instrumentation projects across nuclear plant systems in the UK. You will coordinate integrated commissioning phases, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable system handovers.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, calibration, and continuous improvement of commissioning procedures, with a focus on safety and performance across critical plant assets.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in engineering or related field.
• Experience commissioning I&C systems in nuclear, power, petrochemical, or heavy industry.
• Practical instrumentation knowledge incl impulse pipework and primary measurement elements.
• Experience commissioning pneumatic, hydraulic, and motor operated valve systems.
• Knowledge of process measurement methods incl pressure, temperature, level, and flow.
• Experience interfacing with DCS, PLC and plant protection systems.
• Calibration methods, standards and commissioning best practices.
• Experience commissioning and maintaining safety relief valve systems.
• Strong communication across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to set up, test and troubleshoot complex I&C systems safely.

• Knowledge of process measurement methods including pressure, temperature, level, and flow
• Experience interfacing with DCS, PLC, and plant protection systems
• Practical understanding of calibration methods, standards, and commissioning best practices
• Experience commissioning and maintaining safety relief valve systems within industrial environments
• Strong communication skills conveying technical information clearly across multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to set up, test, and troubleshoot complex I&C systems safely
