Job summary

United Autosports is seeking a meticulous Bodywork Mechanic to fit and repair bodywork on the McLaren Hypercar Programme, coordinating with the composites and wrap teams to meet performance and presentation standards.

This role requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work quickly under pressure, and proven experience in top-tier motorsport with willingness to travel internationally for long race weekends.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical experience in high-level motorsport.
• Strong understanding of bodywork systems, fasteners and composite interfaces.
• Exceptional attention to detail—nothing escapes your eye.
• Excellent communication and teamwork across departments.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, fitting and maintaining bodywork assemblies, panels and aero components.
• Ensuring accurate alignment, secure mounting and correct clearances.
• Carrying out bodywork changes, repairs and component swaps during testing and race events.
• Collaborating with the Composites and Wrap teams to ensure race-ready components.
• Liaising with other technicians to support overall car operation.
• Managing bodywork inventory and event allocations.
• Assisting with pit-stop operations and garage setup.
