Job summary

Stonegate Farmers Ltd is seeking a Hygiene Team Leader in Lacock, Wiltshire. The role leads a hygiene team to ensure food safety and hygiene standards across production and packing, with daily and weekly cleaning schedules, including deep cleans and line changeovers.

The successful candidate will ensure compliance with food safety, biosecurity, BRCGS, and company standards, perform hygiene checks, train staff, and maintain auditable records while promoting a culture of health and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a diverse workforce.
• Understanding of hygiene requirements in production/manufacturing.
• English language skills to understand and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the hygiene team to uphold food safety and hygiene standards across production and packing areas.
• Plan daily and weekly cleaning schedules, including deep cleans and line changeovers.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, biosecurity, BRCGS and company standards at all times.
• Carry out pre- and post-production hygiene checks, signing off areas ready for safe egg packing.
• Train, coach and develop the hygiene team, promoting safe ways of working and consistent standards.
• Oversee safe use and control of cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH requirements.
• Maintain accurate hygiene records, support audits and drive continuous improvement.
• Act as a role model for health, safety and a strong food safety culture across the site.

Working Hours: 06.00am - 18.00pm, 4on4off

Essential experience and knowledge:

• Previous experience managing or supervising a diverse workforce
• A solid understanding of hygiene requirements within a production or manufacturing environment
• English language skills sufficient to understand, explain and implement written and verbal instructions, procedures and requirements

Preferred experience and knowledge:

• Experience working in a high-care food production environment
• Working knowledge of COSHH, allergen controls and contamination prevention
• Experience supporting internal and external audits
