Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe is seeking a Hygiene Operative to maintain cleanliness in production areas, machinery and equipment to the highest hygiene standards. You will follow cleaning schedules and safely handle cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH.

Full training will be provided, including Health & Safety and Food Safety awareness. You can work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced food production environment with progression opportunities and a supportive culture.

Job description

As a Hygiene Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring that work areas, machinery, and equipment are cleaned to the highest standards, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment and ensuring all cleaning schedules are completed effectively. Full training will be provided, including COSHH training, enabling you to safely handle and use cleaning chemicals in line with company procedures. You will work either independently or as part of a team, depending on operational requirements. Duties may involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and within both cold and warm environments, while ensuring compliance with all Company Policies and Procedures, Health & Safety, and Food Safety standards.

• Clean production areas, machinery, and equipment to the highest hygiene standards
• Follow cleaning schedules and complete all assigned tasks efficiently
• Safely handle cleaning chemicals following COSHH procedures
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment at all times
• Work effectively both independently and within a team
• Carry out hygiene duties in production and factory environments as required. Previous experience working within a Hygiene Department
• Good standard of literacy and numeracy skills
• Practical and manual handling skills
• Basic Health & Safety and Food Safety awareness

Previous hygiene experience is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
