Job description

Overview

Pladis is home to iconic brands such as Godiva, Mc Vitie's and Ulker. Based at the Wigston factory with oversight of the Midlands Distribution Centre in Ashby, the role ensures complete adherence to the Pladis Cleaning Management System (CMS) to maintain high standards of production area hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Manage all cleaning activities in and around the production area and maintain everyday hygiene standards across the site.
• Achieve budgeted figures for cleaning operations.
• Plan and prioritise work to ensure maximum use of resources.
• Ensure efficiency and conformance to plan (cleaning schedule compliance).
• Manage site‑based cleaning contractors and/or Pladis Cleaning Teams.
• Lead the management of waste removal contractors for the site and support the application of lean techniques for ongoing efficiency improvements.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements related to cleaning activities.
• Identify, measure and publish key performance indicators related to cleaning and cleaning contractor activity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a hygiene role in an FMCG company.
• Significant experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation and its application.
• Proficiency with IT systems relevant to hygiene management.
• Credible teammate who is self‑motivated and driven to achieve the best results.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with leadership teams, hygiene compliance team managers and operators.
• Knowledge of bakery manufacturing processes & equipment (desirable).
• Knowledge of hygiene systems (desirable).
• Auditing skills and experience with cleanliness audits.
• Level 2 Cleanliness Leadership and management.
• Understanding of machinery and equipment safe use and practices.
• Pest awareness, COSHH awareness and Food & Drink Safety knowledge.
