Job summary

Ramboll in the UK is seeking a Hydrologist / Hydraulic Modeller to join the UK Water team. You will apply hydrology, hydraulic modelling and flood risk assessment across UK infrastructure, development and international projects, working with specialists to deliver robust solutions.

This role offers technical development, client engagement and opportunities to contribute to climate resilience and water management, with flexible working and a foundation-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Degree in hydrology, civil or environmental engineering or related field.
• Approximately five years or more experience in hydrology, flood risk or hydraulic modelling in consultancy/industry.
• Practical experience with hydrological analysis and established modelling software (TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS).
• Strong analytical skills with ability to critically evaluate data and model outputs.
• Clear written and verbal communication with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking and, as experience grows, leading hydrological assessments, flood risk studies and hydraulic modelling for infrastructure, water management and climate resilience projects.
• Applying hydrological and hydraulic modelling techniques and evaluating data, assumptions, and model performance.
• Providing clear, technically robust advice to clients and project teams.
• Contributing to a diverse portfolio of UK and international projects including infrastructure, mining and hydropower.
• Supporting project delivery, technical quality, proposals and client development while mentoring junior colleagues.
