Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Hydraulics Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing hydraulic systems and components from concept through to production, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, safety standards, and cost targets. This role offers a hands‑on opportunity to work on technically challenging projects and contribute directly to the innovation of our product range. Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop hydraulic systems, circuits, and components for industrial and mobile equipment applications.
  • Produce detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Conduct design calculations and simulations to ensure performance, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with production, procurement, and quality teams to optimise manufacturability and cost.
  • Prepare technical documentation, bills of materials (BOMs), and design specifications.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and validation of new designs.
  • Provide technical support during commissioning, troubleshooting, and product improvement activities.
  • Liaise directly with customers and suppliers to clarify technical requirements and resolve design challenges.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (e.g., ISO, CE, ATEX) and internal quality systems.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Hydraulic, or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Proven experience in hydraulic system design within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD design (SolidWorks).
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic components (pumps, valves, cylinders, accumulators, filters, etc.) and fluid power principles.
  • Knowledge of system testing, fault diagnosis, and design‑for‑manufacture principles.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary engineering team.
