Role – Hydraulic Fitter
Location – North of Norwich, Norfolk
Working hours – Monday to Thursday 7am - 4pm and Friday 7am - 1.15pm
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Salary – £35,000 per annum
Our client is currently seeking a Hydraulic Fitter to join their busy fitting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, assembling, testing and commissioning hydraulic systems on their product range.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and install hydraulic systems, and other hydraulic parts according to engineering drawings and design specifications.
- Manufacture hydraulic pipework and custom hose assemblies as required.
- Carry out pressure testing, flushing, rig testing and commissioning of hydraulic systems to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
- Diagnose and fault‑find hydraulic / electro‑hydraulic issues, repair or replace faulty components, and ensure systems operate correctly and reliably.
- Interpret technical drawings, hydraulic schematics and engineering documentation correctly to ensure proper installation and compliance.
- Maintain clean and safe working practices, comply with health & safety procedures and company quality standards (e.g. QHSE procedures).
- Work collaboratively with production, design and engineering teams to support continuous improvement, modifications or bespoke hydraulic installations as required by projects.
Candidate Attributes
- Proven experience as a Hydraulic Fitter or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics and technical documentation.
- Competence in manufacturing hydraulic pipework / hose assemblies, bending, and using hand and power tools required for hydraulic installation and maintenance.
- Experience in pressure testing, commissioning, fault‑finding and repair of hydraulic or electro‑hydraulic systems.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship — ensuring installations are safe, reliable and meet company standards.
- Willingness to adopt flexibility: ability to work on different vehicle types, bespoke builds, and occasional modifications as projects demand.
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team, coordinate with design/manufacturing colleagues.
