Job summary

Wallace Hind Talent Solutions is recruiting for a role that blends Workshop Engineer duties with Field Service Engineer work for a packaging machinery manufacturer serving the food industry. Initial focus in the workshop, then a 50/50 split across UK client sites after training.

The position offers a base salary up to £48,000 with overtime and bonuses potentially raising total earnings to about £55,000, plus a company car. Based near Heathrow, with several commutable locations.

Qualifications

• Qualified multi-skilled electrical/electronic engineer with an apprenticeship.
• Experience in workshop and field service roles is advantageous.
• Background in packaging machinery or food industry is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Work as a Workshop Engineer pre-installation in the office workshop.
• After training, travel to client sites for installation, commissioning, repair and refurbishment.
• Maintain a 50/50 split between workshop and field duties; occasional travel 1–2 nights weekly.
• Occasional weekend work may be required.
