Job summary

Itchy Feet is seeking an experienced Information Security Consultant to serve as the virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) lead across a portfolio of client engagements. This full-time role blends strategic consultancy with hands-on security assurance, reporting to senior stakeholders and shaping security strategy.

You will drive governance, risk and compliance programmes, develop ISMS documentation, and provide board-ready reporting while mentoring junior consultants and supporting

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in cyber or information security, including consultancy or vCISO roles.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, IASME, NIST.
• Proven experience in developing ISMS and compliance programmes.
• Able to present to boards and executives with strong report writing.

Responsibilities

• Act as the lead vCISO for a portfolio of clients, owning delivery and relationships.
• Lead governance, risk, and compliance aligned to ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, IASME, NIST.
• Conduct risk assessments, gap analyses, and compliance reviews.
• Develop ISMS documentation, policies, and procedures tailored to client needs.
• Deliver board and executive-level reporting with business-focused recommendations.
• Oversee security controls, vulnerability management, IAM, and incident readiness.
• Facilitate security awareness training, tabletop exercises, and IR planning.
• Support client audits, certification programmes and supplier assurance.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to service development.
