Job summary

Kier Group plc in the UK is seeking a Temporary Works Design Engineer to join our civil, structural and geotechnical team across multiple locations. You will produce and check design outputs and support complex infrastructure schemes.

Location options include Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich, Plymouth with agile working and up to 1-2 days from home.

Qualifications

• Practical-minded engineer with civil, structural or geotechnical grounding.
• Working towards CEng or IEng status or equivalent experience.
• Experience in temporary works design and management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Producing, checking and reviewing design outputs such as calculations, sketches, drawings and 3D models, ensuring compliance with CDM, SHE procedures and QA processes.
• Acting as Project Lead for simpler projects, managing technical scope, programme, budget and relationships with preconstruction and construction teams.
• Developing yourself and contributing to continuous improvements of processes and systems.
