NG Bailey IT Services in Scotland and the North of England is seeking a Structured Cabling Estimator (Solutions Architect) to design and cost infrastructure solutions for mission-critical environments, including defence estates.

Qualifications

• Security clearance or willingness to go through the process.
• Experience designing structured cabling and Wi‑Fi solutions.
• Proven experience producing estimates and technical proposals.
• Knowledge of structured cabling manufacturers such as Mayflex, Corning, and Leviton.
• Understanding of JSP standards and experience producing ECR documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate confidently with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and technical assessments.
• Design structured cabling and associated ICT infrastructure solutions.
• Produce accurate estimates, bills of materials, labour calculations, and technical proposals.
• Review third-party survey reports and ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Support customer meetings by translating technical requirements into practical solutions.
• Provide technical guidance throughout the pre-sales lifecycle.
• Participate in project handovers, ensuring a smooth transition from design to delivery.
• Maintain accurate commercial and technical information within internal systems.
• Champion Health & Safety and ensure all designs align with NG Bailey standards and industry regulations.
