Job summary

Northamptonshire Children's Trust is seeking an experienced Social Worker for the Children with Disabilities team in Kettering. You will manage a caseload across CIN, CP and CiC, undertake statutory assessments, and coordinate care plans with families and multi‑agency partners.

The role is hybrid (office 3 days a week, home-based for remaining days) with a 37-hour week and a temporary contract. Registration with Social Work England and at least 3 years PQE are required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Minimum 3 years' Post-Qualified Experience (PQE).
• Previous Children with Disabilities (CWD) experience is essential.
• Experience with CIN, CP, and CiC cases.
• Strong assessment, safeguarding, and care planning skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of children and young people with disabilities.
• Undertake CIN, CP, and CiC work.
• Complete assessments of need in line with statutory requirements.
• Assess, arrange, and review care packages and short breaks.
• Develop and review care and support plans to meet needs.
• Work with families, education and health professionals.
• Attend multi-disciplinary meetings and contribute to planning.
• Maintain accurate case records, assessments, and reports.
• Ensure the voice of the child remains central to all assessments.
