Job summary

Lancashire County Council’s Education and Children’s Services is seeking a Senior Manager for EmPower Contextual Safeguarding. Based in Lancashire with a countywide hybrid role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across specialist safeguarding teams, driving performance, quality and continuous improvement to support children and young people at critical points in their lives.

You will lead high‑performing teams, manage risk and budgets, and foster strong partnership working

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years’ management or leadership experience within children’s social care.
• Professionally qualified and registered Social Worker (Social Work England).
• Management qualification or significant management training.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across specialist teams, working with the Head of Service to drive performance, quality and improvement.
• Lead high‑quality safeguarding practice and oversee performance, resources and budgets.
• Foster partnership working with professionals and agencies to ensure children’s voices shape services.
