Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Protection Settings Engineer to deliver protection settings calculations and related reports for Transmission Substations. You will liaise with customers and internal teams to gather information, manage constraints, and drive approvals within programme and budget.

The role involves design reviews, commissioning meetings, and continuous improvement of protection designs. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement across UK sites, with at least three days onsite

Responsibilities

  • Produce protection settings calculations for equipment up to 400kV (OHL, cables, transformers, reactors).
  • Prepare and approve protection grading studies and CT/VT sizing calculations.
  • Develop testing/commissioning strategies and work package budgets.
  • Coordinate design changes and resolve interdisciplinary issues.
  • Engage in design reviews, customer meetings, and commissioning where applicable.
  • Identify and implement tools and process improvements.
  • Support Type Registration and design approvals with the Technology team.
