Job summary

EGIS, a leading global architecture and engineering firm, is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of EHV infrastructure projects across the electricity distribution network. You will manage projects through the full lifecycle from feasibility to handover, handling 11kV to 132kV schemes and coordinating design, procurement, installation and commissioning.

The role involves hybrid working with regular site visits across the North East region.

Qualifications

  • Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations and health and safety requirements.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent qualification desirable.
  • Experience delivering projects within electricity transmission and distribution networks or analogous electrical infrastructure sectors.
  • Knowledge of substation plant and equipment operating at 11kV, 33kV and 66kV, with exposure to 132kV desirable.
  • Experience working on plant replacement, reinforcement and customer connection projects.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver EHV substation projects from concept through to completion.
  • Support the delivery of plant replacement, reinforcement and customer connection schemes across 11kV, 33kV, 66kV and 132kV networks.
  • Develop and review engineering solutions, feasibility studies and project options.
  • Coordinate design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Manage project programmes, costs, risks and resource requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards, safety legislation, CDM requirements and quality processes.
  • Interface with customers, contractors, suppliers and key stakeholders.
  • Support outage planning and network access arrangements where required.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates on programme, cost and risk.
  • Ensure project documentation, asset records and technical data are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to engineering best practice.
