Job summary
Placements24 is assisting a forward-thinking agricultural technology company in Randburg to hire a Precision Agriculture Specialist. The role combines on-field hybrid work with remote data interpretation, focusing on GPS guidance, variable rate application, drone technology, and data analysis to optimize crop production and resource use.
You will collaborate with farmers, train staff on precision ag tools, troubleshoot field hardware/software, and help implement cutting-edge farming solutions
Qualifications
- Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Geomatics, or related field.
- Proven experience with precision farming tech, data analysis and farm software.
- Proficiency with drones, sensors, and GPS data interpretation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; translate data to practical advice.
- Excellent communication and training abilities; hybrid work setup.
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage precision agriculture systems (GPS, auto-steer, VRT).
- Operate drones and sensors for data collection.
- Analyze yield maps, soil data, imagery to provide actionable insights.
- Train farmers and staff on precision ag technologies and software.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in the field and remotely.
