Job summary

Scottish Friendly is hiring an Operational Accountant in Glasgow. The role focuses on maintaining financial integrity, delivering month-end reporting, and strengthening controls. You will work with Finance and the wider business on multiple projects within a supportive team environment.

Qualified accountants or those qualified by experience are welcome. The role offers a hybrid pattern (2 days in office, 3 at home) and a 6–12 month fixed-term contract with a salary in the £42,000–£51,000 range

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or qualified by experience.
• Experience delivering financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support governance framework across the business.
• Process financial transactions including premiums, claims and expenses.
• Deliver timely month-end reporting with reconciliations and analysis.
• Maintain robust internal controls and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure integrity of financial information.
• Assist with design and monitoring of finance systems for new areas.
• Represent Finance on projects and change initiatives.
• Support external auditors and audit activity.
