Job summary

Suffolk County Council is seeking a Service Manager for Children’s Independent Statutory Services. You will provide strategic leadership and oversee independent statutory functions for children in care and safeguarding, driving improvements and ensuring robust scrutiny across partners.

You will lead a skilled team, partner agencies and senior leaders to improve outcomes for children and families. Flexible hours and hybrid working available.

Qualifications

• To be successful you will bring a recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• You will have significant management experience within children's services.
• Excellent analytical, report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and ongoing development of Children's Independent Statutory Services, ensuring oversight and review for children and young people.
• Provide independent scrutiny and professional advice to promote high-quality practice.
• Champion Signs of Safety and Wellbeing across statutory services.
• Collaborate with Police, Health and Education to strengthen safeguarding arrangements.
• Drive quality assurance, performance management and service improvement using evidence and feedback.
• Contribute to leadership of Children and Young People's Services within Suffolk.
