Job summary

University of Exeter is seeking an IT Security Operations Analyst to join the IT Security Operations team. This full-time, permanent role is available immediately, with a starting salary of £30,878 on Grade D.

The position offers hybrid working, combining campus time with remote work, and may involve background screening. You will monitor and respond to security alerts, investigate incidents, support vulnerability management, and help maintain security tools and processes to protect university

Qualifications

• Strong interest in cyber security and a methodical approach to investigating and resolving technical issues.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced operational environment, able to prioritise competing demands and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure, networking and cyber security principles, with experience in incident response, problem solving or IT operations.
• Excellent analytical skills and a proactive attitude with a desire to learn and improve in security practices.

• Triage security events and investigate suspicious activity.
• Work with colleagues across IT to resolve security issues and support incident response.
• Contribute to vulnerability management and continual improvement of security services.
