Job summary

Victim Support is an independent charity dedicated to supporting people affected by crime and traumatic incidents in England and Wales. As an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor you will provide high quality support and advocacy to victims of domestic abuse, manage a caseload and assess risks to keep service users safe.

You will work within a multi-agency framework, collaborating with partners such as MARAC, and deliver training to raise awareness.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse.
• Ability to prioritise work and manage competing demands while upholding organisation values.
• Strong written communication skills for clear, accurate reports for court proceedings.
• SafeLives IDVA accreditation or relevant qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality support and advocacy to victims of domestic abuse.
• Manage a caseload; identify and assess risks and needs with tailored crisis planning.
• Advocate with other agencies to help access services and keep victims safe.
• Work within a multi-agency framework including MARAC and local partnerships.
• Promote the service and raise awareness through training.
