Job summary

Express Solicitors is recruiting a Housing Disrepair Lawyer to manage a caseload of housing disrepair claims for tenants. You will deliver excellent client care and achieve strong legal outcomes with a focus on pre- and post-issue matters.

We offer a highly competitive commission scheme paid monthly in arrears, and a hybrid working pattern after probation. The role requires 3+ years PQE or equivalent experience and involves advocacy, drafting, and negotiations.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 3+ years PQE preferred, but all levels considered.
• Proven experience in housing disrepair or civil litigation matters.
• Strong knowledge of CPR and evidential requirements.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of Housing Disrepair claims from cradle to grave.
• Conduct legal research and provide clear, accurate legal advice to clients.
• Prepare and draft key legal documentation, including pleadings and witness statements.
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court when required.
• Supervise a small sub-team as required and collaborate with colleagues for positive outcomes.
• Stay informed on legislation, case law, and regulatory developments.
