Job summary

WPP in London is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (Applied Research). You will be a hands-on product engineer working close to clients and markets, combining technical depth with commercial insight to define a problem, build a solution, test it in real settings and translate wins into reusable capabilities.

This role requires 5+ years in software engineering or data science, strong Python and cloud skills, and experience building agentic/LLM systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, data science or related field.
• Strong Python and hands-on cloud experience.
• Proven experience building agentic/LLM systems.
• Consultancy-style experience from consulting, professional services, solutions engineering, forward deployment or an internal business-transformation function.
• Ability to communicate technical choices and business implications to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel internationally several times a year.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship agentic workflows, data pipelines, interfaces and integrations centered on business value.
• Collaborate with external partners, clients and internal teams to translate ambiguous problems into technical outcomes.
• Maintain production-like quality with observability, validation and robust testing.
• Develop the business case alongside the build, including cost and scalability.
