Job summary

ADAS, part of the RSK Group, is seeking an Environmental Modelling Consultant on a full-time permanent basis within the Modelling, Software & Geospatial Sciences team. The successful applicant will work on projects related to agriculture and the environment, including digital map production, data management and processing large datasets.

The role is hybrid home/office based located in Bristol, Wolverhampton, Boxworth (Cambridgeshire) or Gleadthorpe (Nottinghamshire).

Qualifications

• Degree in a numerate scientific discipline, ideally environmental science.
• Experience modelling impacts of agriculture and land management on air/water quality.
• Data management and analysis using databases and statistical packages.
• Programming in high level languages (e.g. C#, C).
• Knowledge of agricultural diffuse pollution, air quality and/or agricultural carbon footprinting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, code, run and interpret models relating to air quality, water quality and/or carbon footprinting.
• Provide modelling, data management and data analysis support to ADAS colleagues.
• Contribute to tenders and bids led by ADAS colleagues.
• Deliver, monitor and manage relevant aspects of the project work, initially under supervision.
• Contribute to the writing of clear reports for clients.
• Attend relevant conferences and deliver presentations relating to key projects.
• Proactively develop knowledge relating to air quality, water quality and agricultural emissions.
• Participate in meetings with government and commercial clients to understand requirements.
